We will be working on Unit 2, PBT 1 through Monday, November 4 during class. It is on PowerSchool and should be submitted online. 

Create the front page of a newspaper including two articles and three pictures. Customize the title, headlines, layout to make it your own unique newspaper. One article will be on a topic about The Great Depression. The other will be about one of the New Deal Programs. Handouts with the specific requirements for each of these articles has been given to the students, and copies are provided below. Students were given hard copies of all documents on Tuesday, October 29th.

 A template of the newspaper has been provided for you to download and customize in Microsoft Word. You may adjust the layout, change the name of the paper, change the location, date, etc. It is YOUR newspaper. Just follow the guidelines stated in the outline. We will have 4 full days in class to work on this assignment. It must be turned in by Wednesday, November 6, to receive full credit.

  • You will be writing your own adaptation of “The Most Dangerous Game” on a storyboard. 
  • You will be creating a storyboard with 6 frames. This is done on the front and back of the handout. 
  • Each frame will have a description of at least 2 sentences explaining the action in the frame. 
  • A rubric has been provided for each student. This is a summative grade. It counts heavily in calculating your 9-week grade.

  • Include things in the order that they happened.

  • Tell us about an interesting experience from your early childhood. Include some memories about firsts – first school memory, first pet, first time going to a place you love, first time you rode a bike or left your neighborhood, etc. 
  • Include someone or something that is important to you. 
  • Remember that this is the first sample of your writing that I will see, so show me what you got!
